My Instaweek that was…

I spend ALOT of time on Instagram. It’s where I tend to post random things that don’t always warrant a full post on the blog and my social media platform of choice; because it’s also a great visual diary for me personally to look back on . Here’s what I’ve been up to this week…INSTAWEEK

I was SERIOUSLY stoked when a local acquaintance decided to gift me this vintage singer sewing table. Complete with the original machine inside! Eeeep!  I’m formulating plans to give it a new lease of life!

The school holidays are underway which means my Little Tornado is home and as ever in need of constant attention and entertainment. Cue lot’s of coffee and (gulp) I have been learning to play Minecraft, ha ha! He is SO funny as a “tutor”. Seriously, he keeps patting me on the shoulder in an encouraging manner and telling me “you’re doing just great” and “I’m quite proud of you actually”! I could cry it’s so cute!

Blogging wise, last week saw me blog my favourite new trousers and my now TNT jersey neckline finish on a favourite TNT tee pattern. Le Hemlock of course! I also made a start on my shirt refashion (finished it yesterday and it could be my favourite refashion EVER!!) for The Refashioners 2015 which launches a week today. Eeeep! So happy to have Sew Crafty come on board as a sponsor. They are offering readers of this blog 20% off when you use the code portia20 at checkout! Yay for discounts 🙂 They are also contributing to the prize package for The Refashioners 2015 Community Challenge. If you’re not signed up yet, check it out and get involved to be in with a chance of winning.

Last week we had a little trip over the Dartford bridge and into Surrey to get my car fixed. (I have a convertible and the complicated roof mechanism had gone wrong. There’s an awesome roof specialist in Dorking that sorted it. But it HAS rained EVER since. So the terrible weather we’re currently having MAY be entirely my fault, ha  ha!). While there we stumbled across the most perfect little coffee shop. The most awesome flat white I have had in AGES. Ever since I underwent barrista training and learnt how to whip up a mean coffee myself, it’s kinda ruined me when it comes to having coffee out because I’ve become a teeny bit of a coffee snob!  But this place….can thoroughly recommend the coffee…AND the boiled egg and soldiers 😉

Hope your week is awesome 🙂
