DIY Gift Idea: Leather /Suede Crochet Hook Roll

Stop Press! Over a week into December, and I’ve just got my first handmade gift finished! (Someone needs to get a serious wriggle on!) This little suede crochet hook roll (step by step to follow tomorrow) made to house a set of bamboo crochet hooks I found on eBay. (Superfast delievery too if you’re interested!) You may recognise the suede from a previous project….

Kerry may recognise the button. It’s from the ONLY giveaway I’ve ever won…

The inner “pocket” is made from a remnant of some thrifted curtains….

So essentially this neat little needle roll cost me zero to make!

If you fancy making one, there’ll be a step by step up here tomorrow.

How’s your gift making going? Any handmade gift ideas/tutorials to recommend? I’m all ears!

    Boy, that’s gorgeous needle case!
I have 6 handmade gifts to do: one is done, two need finishing, I’m still waiting for fabric to arrive for one…so things are moving pretty slowly…kudos on your productivity!

Oh yay! The button looks lovely with that soft colour. Coincidentally I’m also making a crochet hook roll, though mine is a crochet and fabric affair. Yours looks very professional though, Mine will be more rustic!

Portia this is literally perfect…it’s so neatly made…love it! I made the selfish decision not to make any gifts this year. I just don’t have enough time and last year I failed to make everything I wanted to and felt so disappointed! So this year, I’m letting myself off ;o)

Such a great idea, and could be adapted for makeup brushes, or pencils or charcoals or – all kinds of stuff! Clever you!
I am doing a series of Christmas table ideas on my telly segments, hoping to get it on YouTube while it is still useful. And today I’ve made 9 puds and 5 cakes, for various purposes, not the least to feed the 28 people I am feeding on Christmas day! 🙂
